Kelsey is the great granddaughter of the founders and has spent nearly every summer since she was born at Valley Mill. She believes that the greatest part of camp is the community it creates, watching as campers grow up each summer and eventually becoming staff members. Of all her summers spent at Valley Mill her favorite summer was that of her CIT (Counselor In Training) year where she made many lifelong friends and discovered her passion for working with children. Growing up in Annapolis just steps away from the Chesapeake Bay, Kelsey has a love of all things water. Her favorite activity as a camper was swimming, so as a staff member it was no surprise that her first years were spent working as a swim instructor and lifeguard at both Girls and Boys Pool. After graduating from University of South Carolina with a degree in Exercise Science she returned to camp to become Assistant Director of Girls Camp. Her favorite part of the job is getting to roam camp, observing as both staff and campers alike have fun in the woods and gain a greater appreciation for nature.
